In his latest Rocky movie, Sly states that the main thing in life is how much a punch you can take and still keep moving forward. Using this movie, Robbie Foreman, illustrates the general principle that Jesus came, in part, to show us a better way to live — a way that went beyond the world’s options. Evan Almighty served as a launching pad for Tim Howard’s message about life as a Christian. “It isn’t easy, it’s uncomfortable, it makes you change, you hardly ever get all the information when you want it, but you get it when you need it, and God’s sufficient. Ultimately, Tim presents a challenge to the Beyond family to practice “Giving Ourselves Away” in order to follow the example that Jesus set for us.

Shrek 3 has several plot twists that are based on either lying or misleading. This latest Shrek installment serves as a great starter for looking at the topic of lying and truth-telling. “How and When to Lie” is Art Morris’ message that pulls all this together. He observes that lying is wrong because it’s against God’s nature. But it’s also wrong for us as individuals because it always causes more trouble in the long run. Passages from Exodus 1 and Joshua 2 are foundation stories and other passages support the principles.
