Jesus came to earth to usher in the kingdom now and he is our King now. Years ago John Calvin wrote that Jesus has three roles toward us: prophet, king and priest. The series we start this week considers Jesus asking us to “Understand Me”. Jesus is certainly a prophet and performed the duties of a prophet while he was here on earth. The Word of God still serves to speak truth to us, reveal sin in our lives and call us to repentance even today.
