Every so often we take a week to emphasize the importance of one of our core values, Living Life Together. Having the support of a small group has been of great value to many people. Beyond wants to support the need that we have to fellowship with each other as fellow Christ-followers. Tim Howard leads this session of encouraging this discipline. Today was the 13th Anniversary of Beyond’s “parent”, Covenant Baptist Church. Beyond celebrated by having our service outside, spending some “Taste of Community” time, and connecting a bit with our past. Tim spoke (unfortunately the recording got corrupted) and elaborated on some of our recent teachings and compared Beyond’s desire to bring the Kingdom of God to earth with Covenant’s long standing mission to develop kingdom-hearted believers. He noted that one facet of peace or shalom was being in line with God’s desires for you. Also, he pointed out that Jesus taught overwhelming grace, but in a context of righteous living. Lani Hammond just returned from a mission trip to Lebanon. We video-taped our interview with her and have posted it below Watch and listen as Lani tells about how her heart was changed while ministering to the Palestinian Moslem women in Lebanon. Lani, who once was unconcerned with women’s outreach, now has a whole new heart for these women who live their entire lives under this repressive regime.

On March 18, 2007 we had a small luncheon for those that are new to and/or interested in deepening their relationship with Beyond. Tim Howard hosted an informal time where our Pastor Bert Welch was introduced and an overview of Beyond was given. As the leadership team talked about this meeting we recognized that we still have some work to do in order to share our vision in the best way possible. Look for more clarity on this issue in the coming days and weeks.
