Much of our time is spent at work. Kinda obvious, I know. And, from a relationship standpoint there are lots of issues that come up: what’s fair? what’s right? how do I resolve this conflict? how’s my attitude? does what I do even matter? Enlarging on some of the advice that Paul gave slaves in Colossians 3:22-24, Art Morris presents the basic message that should infuse everything we do at work: no matter what we do, we need to do it well, whether anyone notices it or not because, because we’re doing it for our Lord, because He is our Life (see v. 4).

Last week Eric challenged us to look at the heart of the marriage commitment. This week he gives us practical advice from scripture on how to live out that commitment with love, service and forgiveness. Early in the message he clarifies an important point: that as someone who was married before and now again, he followed the guidelines of scripture (he refers to the message he gave on his wedding day — check out “Ball and Chain” to hear it).

Most of us, likely all of us, have things we could do to better our marriage. Eric reminds us that ultimately our marriage commitment is to a person, not a concept. We should mirror the commitment that Jesus made to us.

One of the key relationships in the human experience is marriage. Established by God, it precedes all other human connections. At its best and purest it reflects, to a limited degree, of course, the unity and diversity present within the trinity of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. As such, it’s designed to be forever. Eric Kramer explores the basics of the marriage covenant in this message, especially the issues of divorce and remarriage. Further, he suggests that the church has backed away from the biblical standards in many instances. Truly, this is an area where Jesus asks us to “Live With Me”.
