(The body of Christ, that is!!) In this week-after-Easter teaching, Tim Howard applies the way of Jesus to the body of folks who are Beyond. Jesus’ ministry gives us a model to follow; Beyond’s core values help us focus on following that model. Personal reports from J.R. Baker’s “Jesus Freaks” small group (by video since they all work on Sunday) and from Eddie Leaphart testify to different outworkings of our core values. Tim’s encouragement for all of us is to step up to the challenge of being a devoted Christ-follower.

In this Easter message, Eric Kramer, looks at how God has revealed Himself in creation, in the conscience he placed within us and ultimately in his son Jesus. God has always taken the initiative to reach out to us. With his death and resurrection, Christ became God’s sacrificial invitation to come back in to right relationship with him — to come back home.

This teaching features interwoven messages about worship. Robbie Foreman illustrates the ways that we tend to put limits on how or when we worship. Art Morris breaks down the attitudes and expectations of the people present on the first “Palm Sunday”. The teachings, taken together, are a challenge to infuse an attitude of worship into everything we do. In a follow-up to last week’s service on grace, Eric Kramer looks at the other side of the coin: faith/grace without works is dead. Grace (God at work) compels us and empowers us to do good works that were created for us to do. The key point of today’s message is that Fruit in your life is the proof that Grace has taken root in your heart. When Grace hits your heart you want to serve the God who brought you to life!

In today’s teaching Eric Kramer discusses who’s on the list for heaven.
Is it something you do? Does it depend on your friends? Is it what you believe?
You may be surprised but there is nothing we can do to earn heaven. In fact, Jesus has
done it for you. God’s irresponsible love for us pays the price for our sin, so that we can
once again dwell in the presence of our Father who is a holy, righteous God. Heaven is filled
with hypocrites and “No Perfect People”. So don’t waste another minute cleaning up and
getting “Good”, Jesus says “Come as You Are.”

This week we started a new series, Reveal, focusing on how God has taught us things about Jesus. When John the Baptist baptized Jesus, it marked the start of Jesus’ ministry. In this week’s teaching from Matthew 3, Art Morris explores our beliefs about baptism, what it meant in those days and the powerful impact that it still has for believers today. There is a short video clip from Nacho Libre making the point that baptism doesn’t save, it just shows — shows the world where you stand with Christ — watch it on YouTube here.
